Monday July 15th we went all the way up to the 102nd floor of the One World Observatory.

Since we’ve been to the Empire State Building many times before, we decided to try the One World Observatory this time.

First we went through Calatrava’s subway station, which connects directly to the One World Trade Center. We bought the tickets (no line whatsoever), and went up to the 102nd floor in a very fast elevator covered in LED screens, which shows a cool “the history of buildings in NYC” video (years advance as you climb floors).

The truth is that, while it’s the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, the views are not nearly as impressive as the Empire State Building’s, because of the distance to other buildings to act as reference.

In any case, since we went a bit before sundown, we enjoyed both daylight and night time views. A cool experience.
