Speaker at the Romanian Regional Institute of Oncology Congress in Iasi
It’s not common that a non-oncologist gets to be invited as speaker at an Oncology congress. But November 21-24 I was invited to speak at Confer.
It was an honor and a pleasure to speak at the conference, held at the Hotel International, where I also stayed. I also had the chance to visit Iași, as it was my first time in Moldavia (Romania).
The trip did not start well, as my luggage got delayed, which forced me to go out shopping in a hurry. I try not to check in any luggage, but as this was to be a back to back trip (next stop: China), this time I had to.
The inauguration cocktail of the Confer2019 Oncology Congress was held at the Teatrul Național “Vasile Alecsandri”. I also got a tour of the Institutul Regional de Oncologie, and ws invited to have dinner at Corido, and Bucium (where I saw most congress attendees, most over 50, dance for hours). Yet the most memorable time was the private tour of the Orthodox Church Biserica Sfântul Nicolae Domnesc and the Palatul Culturii by a surgeon and art collector.
I promised to reciprocate when he visits Valencia, by having the former Director of the Saint Pius V Museum (and also surgeon) give him a private tour. I hope you don’t mind, Manuel!
