From April 15th to the 24th we cruised the Adriatic with my family, visiting: Trieste, Ancona (Italy), Kotor (Montenegro), Bari (Italy), Corfu (Greece), Dubrovnik (Croatia), Trieste, and Venice (Italy).
On Friday we had lunch with Giovanna, Marchesa (Marquise) Bartolini Baldelli, in her Tuscan villa, that used to belong to Machiavelli.
To relax after the wild party in Venice, we were invited to spend a couple days at the Relais Villa Olmo in Tuscany with some friends.
For my birthday my wife invited me to the wildest and most stylish party ever, on the Grand Canal, at the Ca’ Vendramin Calergi, the sophisticated main venue of the Casinò di Venezia.
After touring the Sina Centurion Palace hotel, we went to the Punta della Dogana (Pinault Collection) art gallery, visited the Peggy Guggenheim Museum… and were invited (including a welcome note and gift from Cristiano) to stay in a private island in Venice!
April 3rd we disembarked the cruise and took a stylish water taxi to our next hotel: the Sina Centurion Palace. Then we spent the rest of the day enjoying more art and a wonderful dinner.
April 2nd was our last day on the cruise, but also a double treat: a visit to the Ca’Macana Maschere mask atelier, and a visit to the Chiesa di San Sebastiano, with its Tintoretto, Tiziano and Veronese’s frescoes.
