September 23-27 I was in Bangkok, invited by the European Union to present at BioInvestment Asia.

I did meet my distributor and customers, visited the Center for Genomic Medicine, attended the event (at BITEC), gave 3 talks, and presented a scientific poster on the use of genomics to combat dengue fever. But I also had fun:

  • Stayed at the very conveniently located The Continent Hotel, with a nice restaurant with a view (Medinii) and rooftop swimming pool
  • Had crab rice at ร้านหมูยิ้มหวาน
  • Had dinner at Michelin-star Tim Ho Wan
  • Was invited to dinner at Savoey 上味泰餐館
  • Enjoyed at the Pier 21 food court (Terminal 21 shopping mall, next to my hotel)
  • Went shopping to the Platinum Mall and visited the electronics mall Pantip Plaza
  • And had a blast (and ate scorpion and crocodile) at the Train Night Market Ratchada, which was completely full of Chinese tourists
