A day at the Guggenheim in Bilbao
We spent Sunday at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao (Spain).
Our hotel was magnificently located right across the street from the Museum, which not only made it extremely convenient, but also gave us amazing vies for breakfast.
Other than the extremely annoying fact that they do not allow any kind of photography in any of the exhibitions, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao is a decent one from the art exhibited point of view (besides part of the permanent collection, we saw the monographic exhibits on Giorgio Morandi, Gerhard Richter, Jenny Holzer, Lucio Fontana, and Richard Serra), including the outdoors sculptures and my favorite, Louise Bourgeois’ Maman. But where the museum really shines is architecturally, designed by Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry. Truly stunning.
