Today, at the gym`s lobby/reception area, a man was sitting waiting for his wife to come out of yoga class. When she does, he gets up to greet her, feels dizzy, and passes out, falling to the ground, and hitting his face on the floor.
Two men who were on their way out, walk over this man. They do not bother-care-ask what`s wrong. They do not offer assistance.
Finally, his wife (who witnessed the whole episode, paralyzed in fear) reacts, wakes him up, and makes sure his eye socket bleeding is not too profuse.
Random things seen in NY this past week:
A “horsehead” in the NY subway. What I love (and sometimes hate) about NY: nobody turned, laughed, commented, got scared, pointed a finger… this is life as usual here.
“The Crazy Piano Guy” is Colin Huggins, a piano player that takes his piano to Madison Square Park and performs in public for free. Awesome.
Not only the latest Ferrari, Maserati… once in a while you get to see cool vehicles as well 😉
Mickey Hart, Dar Williams, Bella Gaia (AWESOME), & The Abrams Brothers (country/folk/rock energetic brothers… that violin was smoking! loved it) concert at Highline Ballroom.
Cool mix of music, dance and infographic visuals with eco message. Highly recommended (even the veggie burger was good!).
Intelligence could not represent for a long time the part of the heart.
François de la Rochefoucauld
Seeing certain color combinations, associations are sure to fly into anybody`s minds.
Usually, red and yellow will bring to mind things like flags (of Spain, Catalonia-Valencia, R, Security, and adding some shapes you could even think of Macedonia or China).
Beyond flags, Axomil, sunset, fire, peppers, tullips, ballons, ketchup and mustard, Flash, soccer referee cards, Superman… there are SO many options.
But when you consider the hue, tone, context, memory, and further additional information, then those options start to get reduced.
Although I like more “spiritual” martial arts, I had always wanted to try boxing (one of the few martial arts I had not tried yet). So today I had my first boxing session with Curtis Summit. Who is Curtis? This is his official short bio:
Former professional boxer with 20 years of boxing experience who turned Pro in 1983 after advancing to the 1984 Olympics box off. With 26-9-2 pro records, 14TKOs on the national and international level, ranked No 2 in the world by the World Boxing Council, the World Boxing Association and the International Boxing Federation.
See in Scientific American:
“I could not survive without a ballpoint pen in my back pocket. It`s invaluable for scribbling notes on the front of my hand (my version of the PalmPilot…) to remind me to do things I used to be able to remember unaided before my age converged with my IQ while traveling in opposite directions.”
